Lightning McQueen and Mater finally arrive at their destination for the wedding of Mato, Mater's sister. On site, Lightning discovers a nervous and uncomfortable Mater in front of his sister.
Lightning also learns that Mater grew up in a lavish mansion: Mater's family is much wealthier than he imagined. Mato is kind and attentive to everyone... except Mater, whom she constantly teases.
The groom, Mateo, is none other than Cruz Ramirez's cousin: this is how Cruz Ramirez attends the wedding. After several mishaps, Cruz reveals that she has tried her hand at family psychology and manages to reconcile Mater and Mato, who finally resolve their differences.
