Episode Summary: Lights Out
Mater senses it's going to rain and, contrary to what Lightning McQueen thinks, the downpour does eventually arrive. Soaked, the two friends find refuge at the Hotel Destiny, a sinister-looking establishment run by an equally unsettling caretaker, Randy.
Mater is scared by the place but, ironically, falls asleep immediately. Lightning, on the other hand, can't close his eyes because of strange noises and goes to explore the hotel. He then finds himself chased by ghosts and confronted with disturbing visions: words written on the walls, imploding twins, an unsettling elevator…
The episode fully plays on the codes of the haunted house movie, while maintaining the humor specific to the Cars universe.
