The official synopsis presented at Annecy sums it up as "all-new racing adventures in Radiator Springs".

Three new characters have been confirmed:

  • Pipes — a thrill-seeking dragster (original voice: Leah Lewis);
  • Miles — a mud-loving monster truck, Lightning McQueen's teammate (original voice: Yuri Lowenthal);
  • Ms. Blinker — voiced in the original version by Sheryl Lee Ralph; her vehicle type and exact role have not yet been officially revealed.
