Doc Hudson is a 1951 Hudson Hornet. Under his appearance as a country doctor hides the "Fabulous Hudson Hornet", one of the greatest champions in Piston Cup history.

Three-time champion
Doc won three Piston Cups, from 1951 to 1953, and still holds the record for the most wins in a single season. A career abruptly cut short by a serious accident, after which the racing world forgot him.

Lightning McQueen's mentor
Retired in Radiator Springs, Doc turned his back on racing. But he passes on his knowledge to Lightning McQueen, teaching him the technique of controlled drifting ("turn right to go left"). He becomes his mentor and father figure.
