Opening and Construction

Cars Land opened its doors on June 15, 2012, as part of a vast renovation of Disney California Adventure estimated at approximately 1.1 billion dollars.

The project, supervised with the involvement of John Lasseter (director of Cars), aimed to offer a total immersion: Disney Imagineers reproduced the buildings, neon signs, and even the sounds of the town so that visitors feel like they are stepping into the movie.

Radiator Springs Racers: The Signature Attraction

The jewel of Cars Land is Radiator Springs Racers, an "E-ticket" attraction considered one of the most spectacular in the entire resort.

The ride combines:

  • a "dark ride" section that re-enacts scenes from the movie with animated sets and characters
  • a high-speed outdoor race through the Cadillac Range landscapes
  • two vehicles launched side-by-side in a real final race
