What is Cars Land?
Cars Land is a 4.9-hectare (12-acre) themed area located in Disney California Adventure park, in Anaheim, California. It faithfully recreates, in real scale, the town of Radiator Springs as seen in the movie.
From the main road lined with vintage shops to the mountains shaped like Cadillac Range in the background, every detail recreates the atmosphere of Route 66 that inspired the film.

Opening and Construction
Cars Land opened its doors on June 15, 2012, as part of a vast renovation of Disney California Adventure estimated at approximately 1.1 billion dollars.
The project, supervised with the involvement of John Lasseter (director of Cars), aimed to offer a total immersion: Disney Imagineers reproduced the buildings, neon signs, and even the sounds of the town so that visitors feel like they are stepping into the movie.

Radiator Springs Racers: The Signature Attraction
The jewel of Cars Land is Radiator Springs Racers, an "E-ticket" attraction considered one of the most spectacular in the entire resort.
The ride combines:
- a "dark ride" section that re-enacts scenes from the movie with animated sets and characters
- a high-speed outdoor race through the Cadillac Range landscapes
- two vehicles launched side-by-side in a real final race
🏁 You'll encounter Lightning McQueen, Mater, and the town's residents, in an experience that blends storytelling and thrills.
Other Attractions
- Mater's Junkyard Jamboree: a festive ride where you spin in trailers pulled by baby tractors, animated by Mater
- Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters: Italian race cars that dance to the music, managed by Luigi (the attraction replaced the original "Luigi's Flying Tires" in 2016)
Restaurants and Shops
Cars Land extends the immersion to dining and shopping:
- Flo's V8 Café: the main restaurant, a replica of Flo's diner
- Cozy Cone Motel: stands shaped like traffic cones selling snacks and drinks, run by Sally
- Fillmore's Taste-In: organic drinks and products, true to the eco-friendly character
- Ramone's House of Body Art and Sarge's Surplus Hut: themed souvenir shops
Total Immersion, Especially at Night
One of the most beloved moments in Cars Land is nightfall. At this time, all the neon signs on the main road light up in an orchestrated sequence, recreating the iconic scene from the film where Radiator Springs gets its lights back.
This effect, true to the golden age of Route 66, completely transforms the atmosphere and plunges visitors into the nostalgia of the film.
